How we photograph an interior
As an interior photographer, capturing the atmosphere of an interior is the starting point. For example, how is the space laid out? Where are the beautiful sightlines? What colors and materials have been used?
We also enjoy capturing the users of the interior. This quickly clarifies the scale of a project. We like to include people in the frame to demonstrate how elements of the interior are used. How does that unique door open? Where do people gather?
Where necessary, elements of an interior are additionally lit. This allows us to quickly visualize what the photo is truly about—for example, a beautiful piece of furniture or the unique use of materials. Or simply because lighting has not yet been installed in a newly completed project.
Post-processing of photos
After the shoot, we begin processing the interior photographs. As an interior photographer, you encounter various challenges. That is why we work on large, color-calibrated monitors. This allows us to clearly see all the details and colors in the interior photos. Following color corrections, everything in the interior is shown as it actually appears on-site.
Unwanted elements such as power outlets and smoke detectors are also usually retouched to result in a ‘cleaner’ image.
Once the photos are ready, the client receives perfectly finished high-resolution images. These can be used in small formats on a website, but enlarging them to several meters is also no problem at all.
